I’m Afshan, an Iranian-born and raised home design enthusiast, now based in California.
My background is in architecture, where I spent several years working on large-scale projects. Over time, however, I found myself drawn to the intimacy of designing homes—a realm where my love for storytelling through space, objects, colors, patterns, and gardens could truly take root.
I am inspired by the stories that spaces hold—the memories they carry, and the power they have to make us feel at ease, happy, and fulfilled. Through Room Stories, I share the visual memory of rooms that have enchanted me. I explore what they are made of and what gives them personality. I believe this is a meaningful way to understand how we can bring character into our own spaces and live more beautifully.
Alongside my design journey, I create artworks inspired by my Iranian heritage. My deep desire is to create objects that carry the warmth of Eastern culture while feeling cosmopolitan and timeless—pieces that weave Iranian and Central Asian motifs with Western influences in composition and color. I hope they become part of a room’s story, and bring a sense joy into the lives of those who encounter them.
My journey is still unfolding—a slow weaving of art, experience, and place.
I invite you to join me in it.
