Khorshid in Moon Mist | Vertical Miniature
Khorshid in Moon Mist | Vertical Miniature
Khorshid is an interpretation of the enduring eight-petal rosette, a motif that bridges ancient Persian carvings and later Islamic-era architecture. Historically representing the sun, this radial form appears across centuries of Iranian art, symbolizing spiritual illumination, perfect symmetry, and the enduring power of celestial light.
I named this color palette Moon Mist. It captures a quiet, misty night sky with the soft glow of the full moon, serene and tranquil to walk under, bringing a sense of reflection and calm.
The rhythmic repeat of the motif and the subtle character of hand-block printing bring a quiet peace to the piece, remembering that even in the dark of night, the moon’s gentle glow is simply the sun’s light reflected back to us.
- hand block-printed on 2.5″ × 7″ smooth, 100lb acid free paper.
- delivered unframed.
- each piece is individually signed; gentle variations in color and pattern reflect the hand-crafted nature of the work.
